Renee Beebe, Med, IBCLC, the Second
, Seattle, Union Hill-Novelty Hill,
What a joke! I called Renee because my pediatrician recommended her. She was helpful on the phone, advised me to pump until she could come to me (which was not for 3 days and that might as well have been a lifetime when you're a new mom in desparate need of assistance). She finally came to my home, was very cold, abrupt, and barely even made eye contact with me. She grabbed my new baby daughter and forcefully pushed her onto my chest without HELPING me figure it out. Daughter latched (which of course she would with someone who knew what they were doing doing it all for me!) and Renee exclaimed, "I have no idea what you're complaining about - she's doing just fine". I explained, in detail, that she never did that before and I needed help getting her to OPEN wide and she told me, "Just do it, just push her on" when I did and it didn't work, Renee said, "You are the most impatient new mom I've ever met". She made me feel horrible about myself, she belittled me, she made me feel like a horrible mother, she didn't perform any services like she "promises" and she made me feel like I was the most stupid person on this earth - a stupid person with a brand new baby who I didn't know how to feed successfully...all of that and then she charged me 165.00! Had I been less dedicated, I would have switched to formula immediately but instead I pumped and bottle fed for 2 months - YES, TWO MONTHS! Until a friend implored that I seek the assistance of another, obviously more compassionate and QUALIFIED, Lactation Consultant and months later, we are successfully 100% on-the-breast feeding. Renee should not be allowed to "practice" in any community. She finanially exploited a very vulnerable, sensitive, emotional new mom and left me feeling more desparate, lost, and horrible than when she arrived. She's a deplorable business woman and insensitive human being.
